The Angels had a 5-run lead going in to the 8th inning, only to have their bullpen falter once again, and throw what seemed like a sure victory. Dustin Moseley left after 3 innings with an injury, just another one to add to the list of Halo injuries this year.
Speaking of injuries, Vladimir Guerrero will be out for at least a month with a torn pectoral muscle… just what every Angel fan likes to hear. The Angels are facing roadblock after roadblock to start the season… if they can even hit .500 by the end of May I’d be pleased at this point.
Other than that, this bullpen is just driving me insane. Jason Bulger is terrible. Shields is erractic. Fuentes hasn’t been exactly squeaky clean. This could be a long year.
I’m not even in the mood to blog in-depth tonight when this team’s bullpen gives up 7 runs in the 8th inning and make no use whatsoever of the Angels’ offensive production.
Halo of the Game Review and Pick:
4/17 Halo of the Game Pick: Kendry Morales
Stat Line: 2-5, 2 RBI, 1 R, 1 K, 3 LOB
Kendry had a clutch base knock that would bring 2 runners around to score in what would be a 5-run 7th inning for the Angels. Morales was one of 4 Angels to have 2 or more hits on the game.
Current Halo of the Game Hit Streak: 1 (season long – 8 games)
